Configuring Your Browser to Read VPS Fonts

You must have either the Netscape Nagivator or the Microsoft Explorer and VPS fonts installed on your computer to read the Vietnamese characters on the VIET Magazine web pages.
Follow the procedures below to configure your browser.

Downloading VPS Fonts

PC-Windows3.x	vpsfnt08.zip (563Kb)
PC-Windows95	vpswin3d.zip (1252Kb)
UNIX	Xfonts.vps.1.1.tar.Z (135Kb)

Netscape Navigator

Follow the procedure below to configure your Netscape Navigator to read VPS fonts,

Install the Netscape Navigator on your computer.
Download and install VPS fonts (follow the font installing instructions that come with VPS fonts).
Restart your computer. >> Do not forget this step <<
Launch Netscape.
Select Options > General Preferences ...
Select Fonts.
In the Fonts window, set the following parameters:
- For the Encoding: Western
- Use the Proportional Font: VPSTimes Size: 12
- Use the Fixed Font: VPSHelvetica Size: 12
- Click OK to exit.
Select Options > Document Encoding > Western (MacRoman)
Select Save Options

NOTE: The above procedure is for the Netscape Navigator 2.0 (Mac version). Use similar Font/Encoding settings for the Netscape Navigator running on Windows.

Microsoft Explorer

Follow the procedure below to configure your Microsoft Explorer to read VPS fonts,

Install the Microsoft Explorer on your computer.
Download and install VPS fonts (follow the font installing instructions that come with VPS fonts).
Restart your computer. >> Do not forget this step <<
Launch Explorer.
Select Edit > Options
Select Font.
In the Font window, set the following parameters:
- Language: English(en)
- Font Encoding: Western(Mac)
- Proportional Font: VPSTimes
- Fixed-width Font: VPSHelvetica
- Click OK to exit.

NOTE: The above procedure is for the Microsoft Explorer 2.0 (Mac version). Use similar Font/Encoding settings for the Microsoft Explorer running on Windows.
